From homemade skincare remedies passed down by her mother to her holy grail beauty products that she tested and came to love over the years, Rashi shares her everyday beauty routine. And she’s sharing a trick to blend foundation perfectly.
Q. Out of Skincare, Haircare, Makeup and Body Care on which area(s) do you spend the most time, what is most important to you and why?
Skincare – I spend most time firstly on skincare and makeup, though I wish to spend more time on haircare. From my childhood days, my mother has inculcated the habit of skincare into me with all the home remedies she would force me to try. As I grew up I became more aware of products available in the market for the same and began trying them out. I was exposed to makeup tips, tricks and products after I worked in the beauty industry. My job gave me exposure to products I had not tried before. However, once I did try them there was no going back.
Makeup – My makeup collection has just been growing and I feel the need to apply at least a basic coat of foundation when I step out on most days (there are days when I’m lazy, of course!).
Haircare – I have waist-length hair since before I can even remember. I never cut them short. I follow a basic routine of shampoo and conditioner for my hair. However, I do intend to try some products to improve my hair quality.
Q. Can you take us through your everyday beauty routine?
Skincare: So my skincare routine is very basic and simple. I follow the cleansing, toning and moisturizing routine, and use a scrub to get get rid of dead skin cells. I do apply Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair serum before sleeping. I also apply DIY face packs made from aloe vera gel, multani mitti also known as fuller’s earth, turmeric and lemon peels. I sometimes also break open vitamin E tablets and apply the liquid from within onto my face before sleeping.
Makeup: I start with Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair Serum (yes, I am obsessed with it), then the Chanel Vitalumière Satin Fluid Makeup SPF, M.A.C Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer, Bobbi Brown blush, Urban Decay’s Naked Heat Eyeshadow Palette, Maybelline eye pencil – the colossal kajal, L’Oréal Mascara, I like to experiment with lipsticks and use lots of different brands. Currently, I like using this nude shade numbered 316 from KIKO Milano. I use the Clinique contour and highlight sculpting chubby sticks sometimes. I find them easy to use for a contouring beginner like me but I need to yet learn tricks to the get the contoured look right.
Q. What would be your one highly recommended beauty product, hack, service or DIY that you think everyone should give a shot?
Mix Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair Serum with foundation before applying it on the face. It really helps the foundation blend. I know it’s on the expensive but this one serum can do so many things, so whoever I recommend it to I tell them that think of it as an investment and not indulgence.
Also, I swear by the Chanel Vitalumière Satin Fluid Makeup SPF 15. I have been using it for over 5 years.
Q.Imagine your dream beauty product that currently does not exist. Why this product and what would you really want it to do for you?
Would like to try false lashes that are not so messy to apply. I don’t know do other girls do it but for me applying false lashes is a headache. If you’re reading this and know an easy and a mess-free way of putting false lashes please enlighten me.
